Pop that Question

Another usual day,
As, I walk by the sides on the road, after a tiring day, it you flash by my mind. What I would do, to catch a glimpse of you, what I would do, to be with you. You will bring me comfort, and take me where I desperately need to go. You have helped me through the last 8 years.

Not a day passes, without me thinking of you. And everyone around me thinks I am childish to be still stuck with you. But, then I have nowhere else to go to. You are still special to me.

As I walk along, I catch a glimpse of you, I see you approach me. A flair of hope, in my heart, desperation within me. I wave at you, frantically, hoping you wont miss me this time. You, seem to slow down, as I pace my walk towards you.

I decide, I have to pop up the question, its now or never. "Will you, or wont you?"
As, I near you, my heart beats faster, a tinge of hope. Hoping you wont dump me here, in the middle of the road, after all the trust I put in you.

I see your face, an apparently disinterested look. We have been through this before, but everytime, it seems new. I muster courage, and pop the magic question, the one that many others do so, hoping to get "Yes" as an answer.
A "No" would lead to a heartbreak, but I know the answer could be something between the two. Something wherein, you say "Yes", only if I agree to your conditions. I, fear you might ask for something not in my budget (diamonds are expensive you know).

I pop the question,
I stand there, with my heart in my throat waiting for your reply, you don't even look my way, and without any remorse, you make a face and speed away....

I, stand there, in the middle of nowhere, my fear came true. How, and why?
This sudden change in your attitude towards me. Things used to be a lot easier.
But, now things might never be the same again.

Who was I talking about?
You maybe curious to know.

Well, I was talking about the @%*@! auto wallas in Hyderabad. Pop the question, where you wanna go to them, and 9 times outta 10, they speed away, w/o even saying NO. Else, they will charge you an amount equal to the Nizam's jewels (diamonds are expensive you know ;)).

Damn them, these days, you don't take them where you want to go. They take you where they want to go, and on top of that you have to pay them extra.

I, sometimes seriously consider leaving engineering and start driving an auto.

Sigh....

(Btw, I did pop the question to another autowalla, and thank God, he said "YES" which is why I am at home, typing this blog.)

So, next time you pop that question, hope it reminds you of me

This looks to me an excellent compilation of what everyone's predicament with AUTO WALLAS in Hyd ! Looks like little has changed over years.Should we not just have systems(or law perhaps with equal privilege to Autowalla) where you have to just wave Autowalla...Auto stops and you board...and the Autowallah asks...Where should I drop you Sir! And then Takes You to your destination...
